Advantages of Ceramic Knives

Ceramic knives are made of zirconium oxide and almost as hard as diamond. They are not metal at all and have a flat white to bright white. Its composition is much harder than steel. In fact, are second only to diamonds, which are the hardest mineral of all.

There is another class of ceramic knives have black blades. These blades begin as white zirconium oxide. Then they are switched to black zirconium carbide by an additional firing process called sintering. This process gives the blades of the advantage of being even harder than before. Now they are the strongest knives around.

There are definite advantages of ceramic knives more than steel knives.

Longevity Edge: Because ceramic knives are harder than steel knives, can hold an edge much longer. In general, most ceramic knives can maintain its edge for months if used properly.

Ease of Use: Because they hold their edges longer, ceramic knives are easier to use than steel knives. There is less clarity to do. They are also much lighter than steel knives.

Wear resistance: Ceramic knife does not stain or rust. Steel knives can become discolored by food acids, but not with ceramic knives.

Fragile Edge: Quality ceramic knives are not likely to break when dropped. They are, however, an advantage they can get broken or broken tip. Despite the strength of the ceramics, the edge is obviously fragile. Cutting of bone or something hard like this, then, is beside the point.

Breakable Blades: If you use the ceramic knife as a tool of curious, you have a very good chance of breaking the blade on the handle.
